It’s that time of year again. In two weeks kicks off San Diego Comic Con, the biggest annual geek celebration on the planet with over 120,000 people cramming the South Californian city and convention center for the four-day event.

The entire convention sold out ages ago, hotel rooms across the city have been booked out as per usual, and everyone’s rushing to organize themselves for the craziness. I’ve been every year since 2001 and will be back again as usual, mostly in Hall H covering the various panels, and then likely drunk at the various parties afterwards.

The official site has begun rolling out the schedule and funnily enough it seems that Thursday looks to have most of the major premieres this year with “Avatar,” “Twilight” and the “Tron” sequel all doing big panels.

CAN I GET A WITNESS?!?

It appears Paris Hilton put on quite a perfomance in court today (July 10).

The baby-voiced celebutante reportedly fussed with her hair and makeup over and over again and then amused the judge with a little pageant wave on the way to the witness stand.

Chief U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno: “I’ve never had a witness wave at me before.”

When Paris was finally on the stand, though, the mood changed as she defended herself against an $8 million lawsuit’s claiming that she didn’t promote the 2006 box-office flop Pledge This!

While admitting that the flick was awful to watch, she insists she did her job to promote it. “If I have my name attached to something, I want it to be as big as it can be,” she testified. “It could have been a lot better if it was done more professionally. I wanted it to do as well as possible.”

Angelina Jolie was back on her plane today (July 10) — but this time she brought along her children!

Clad in a black tank top and black fitted jeans, the jet-setting actress could be seen getting out of her Cirrus Sr-22 plane after completing a flight. She was joined by her brood, consisting of Shiloh, Zahara and Pax. No word on whether they tagged along for the ride.

While family patriarch Brad Pitt has been zooming around L.A. on his motorcycle, Angie has spent the week taking flying lessons with a private insructor in Santa Barbara, CA.

And while you may be asking yourself, ‘Could she be any cooler?” the answer is ‘yes.’ Angelina was named in a new poll today as the “ultimate lesbian heroine.”

REESE FEELS THE BURN

Causing heads to turn and cameras to flash, Reese Witherspoon was seen leaving a workout class in Brentwood, CA today (July 10).

Joined by a minder from the club, the 33-year-old star looked refreshed following a one-hour spinning class at the exclusive Burn60 studio on South Barrington Place.

Meanwhile, Reese was hiding a black eye behind a pair of oversized sunglasses after she was injured while training for her new movie.

A spokesperson for the Oscar-winning actress has revealed the star picked up the injury during a game of softball, in preparation for her upcoming untitled baseball film.

Making the most of his day of, Zachary Quinto was seen taking his dog Noah for a walk through his Silverlake, CA neighbourhood today (July 10).

After a brief stroll under the hot California sun, the Star Trek stud and his best friend stopped in for a refreshing iced coffee at Intelligentsia.

Zachary is currently filming the upcoming season of Heroes. Season four of the hit NBC series is set to start with a two-hour premiere September 21.

Time for some good news.

Jennifer Aniston reportedly picked up the tab for the entire cast and crew to have an extra day off of her new movie The Bounty.

Their Fourth of July weekend started on Thursday, July 2, a day earlier than expected.

Says one member of the crew: “Jen is such a genuinely good person. How many people in this world would pay for an entire movie set to have off for the day? Not just anyone does that. We’re talking big bucks.”

What a gal!

A number of major Swedish newspapers are threatening to boycott Britney Spears’ concert in Stockholm on Monday night because of restrictions being imposed on their photographers.

Publications like Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Expressen and Aftonbladet claim they don’t like the fact that the pop star’s contract bars the papers from reselling the pictures and from publishing them more than 30 days after the concert.

Roger Turesson, photo editor of Dagens Nyheter, tells the Associated Press today (July 10) “the next step would be to tell critics they can’t write anything critical.”

Talk about a fashion statement!

Michelle Obama donned a traditional head veil for her visit today (July 10) to the Vatican in Rome. The First Lady and her President hubby were greeted warmly by Pope Benedict XVI, despite their opposing views on some issues such as abortion and stem cell research.

Once their meeting was underway in the Papal Library and cameras began going off, Barack Obama said, “You must be used to having your picture taken.” While the Pope nodded, the President added: “I am still getting used to it.”

As for Malia and Sasha’s whereabouts? They were busy getting a private tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.

THE BECKHAM BUNCH: IN TRANSIT

The jetsetting lifestlye of the Beckham bunch simply knows no boundaries.

After arriving in London yesterday from celebrating their wedding anniversary in the Seychelles, David and Victoria Beckham were back at Heathrow Airport today (July 10) — this time joined by their boys Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz – as they prepared to board a flight to L.A.

The boys all wore matching outfits of blue t-shirts and checked shirts, perhaps picked by their fashion icon mother.

And while 13-hour flights and time differences can take a toll on the average traveler, it certainly didn’t stop Posh from looking simply fab.

We’d hate her if we didn’t already like her!
